Johnson Space Centre in Houston

While all the launches of US space missions such as the Apollo and shuttle programs go from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, the planning and training fore these spectacles happens at NASA's Johnson Space Centre (JSC), just outside of Houston. All the hustle and bustle of these events have been transformed into a theme park like experience where you can visit massive exhibits which come with huge corporate sponsorship, the result which is activities such as the lego rockets and modern futuristic saturn automobiles. Alongside all this activity there is plenty of knowledge to be absorbed about projects such as the Faith 7 capsule used to orbit the earth and the command module for Apollo 17. As well as all of this you will find actual moon rocks including one particular one that you will be allowed to touch. The infamous mission control is also on view and training centres complete with all the facilities such as zero gravity labs. Due to the size of the place and the slow tram service it will probably take most of the day to see the entire facility .
